We created Evergreen Exploring to make parents lives easier; so that parents could spend more time with their children and less time scrolling looking for the perfect activities. A Wild Advent will make playing and exploring in nature a treasured time together and give you that Christmas sparkle and glow that memories are made of.
Spend each day of advent with a purpose to get out the house, engaging with nature and creating either "toys" to play with for the rest of the day or keep busy crafting with gifts, cards and decorations to keep or give away.

What if we told you there was an easy, wholesome way to enjoy advent with an under five?
You want to enjoy the build up to Christmas and the excitement it brings for your little one but you don't want to ply them with chocolate or put all the effort into Elf on the Shelf. We understand, we are the same.
We also know that getting outside is harder as it gets darker and colder, but in the depths of sleep deprivation we always felt better for getting out, even more so if our little ones were engaged and happy.
That's why we have put together this advent calendar, this will give you reason to get outside, gather up nature finds, enjoy exploring, playing and creating together. It doesn't all happen outside, but it will give you a reason to get out each day and keep you busy. How much does it cost? £9.99, roughly 42p per day and maybe a bonus of a warm cup of tea as they happily play.

We have curated 24 of our best (and favourite!) festive activities for you to do with your child.
All of these activities have been tried and tested by us and our children when under five. And we all know how much children like repetition so they have been tested...a lot!
How long they take is up to you! You can spend as little or as long as you like on these, or as long as you can spend outside on a Winter's day!
We share all our top tips to get the most out of your time together.

How much does it cost?
Wild Advent costs £9.99. This works out less than 42p a day. You will have an activity ready and waiting up your sleeve (with little to no prep - yes!) to enjoy with your little one.
What extra resources do I need to buy?
Pretty much none! We believe in using what we have whether it's from the recycling or things that you are likely to have, like glue or paint. We aren't all from Yorkshire but very much play up to the stereotype! We don't want you to have to spend a load of money so we give as many options as possible when it comes to resources and highly encourage you to use what you find about the house.
For example: We love eye stickers as we think they are really easy (and children love stickers!), you may have googly eyes OR you may draw some eyes to stick on.
When you sign up you will be able to access a full resources list.
Do I have to do the activities in a specific order?
Absolutely not - this has been designed for you to choose the best order to suit you. This way you can choose the activities which will take longer on days when you have more time.
If you find you don't have time at all one day - read a Christmas story or find our Christmas song sessions video to mark the day. Nobody is watching or judging, the activities are there for you to enjoy.
If December gets busy don't worry - we don't think your toddler will mind doing them after Christmas Day!
Do I need a printer?
Some activities do have an additional page that you could print off to use - however if you are happy drawing an outline of a tree, star, stocking etc you will find it isn't necessary. One activity is a scavenger hunt which would work best printed but that is the only activity that requires printing and can be done just as easily from your phone or recorded on the back of a cereal box!
How long do the activities take?
The activities vary in length so you can pick one that suits the amount of time you have available each day - there are even ones that would be suitable to do on the way to or from nursery!
Are these activities suitable for children over five?
This advent calendar has been designed for and tested by under fives however an older sibling may enjoy some of the activities - you know your child best!

Natalie, Rosie and Emily are three qualified teachers with experience teaching babies to adults, from York to Corsica. They are mothers to nine children - fortunately combined, not each! Most importantly, they have a combined 15 years experience leading nature play groups in their local park.
