Keep playing and exploring in nature

Emily is wearing glasses and hiding behind a huge leaf; Natalie couldn't find a leaf the size of her head so tried hiding behind two little leaves; Rosie managed to find a giant chestnut leaf and much sought after conkers!

Who we are...

Evergreen Exploring was founded by Natalie, Rosie and Emily. They are 3 dedicated mothers with 9 children between them. 3 fully qualified teachers with 33 years combined teaching experience, from babies to adults, from York to Corsica. Most importantly, they have a combined 15 years experience leading nature play groups including nature crafts, songs, stories games and even theme related snacks.

Combining their teaching skills and early years expertise with their love of stories, songs, food and games they would like to support others to get outside because we all know it, we do feel better for it.

What we do...

Together we create activity resources so that you can get outside and spend time with your little one having fun! No more time spent scrolling for age appropriate ideas that use loads of things you don't have. All of our activities are nature based and if you need anything else then it's likely to be something you have at home anyway like paper, pens and scissors.

What you get are tried and tested activities that we know children love. We have done all these activities with our own children at various ages. There's no right or wrong so we love seeing them adapted to suit the outside space or the ability of the child. Make it your own and keep playing and exploring in nature.

Coming Soon...

Wild Advent

We have curated 24 of our best (and favourite!) festive activities for you to do with your child.

All of these activities have been tried and tested by us and our children when under five. And we all know how much children like repetition so they have been tested...a lot!

How long they take is up to you! You can spend as little or as long as you like on these, or as long as you can spend outside on a Winter's day!

We share all our top tips to get the most out of your time together.

Easy step by step instructions with a resources list so that's one less thing to think about at this busy time of year!

We know life is chaotic enough so we try to use resources that you would have in the house anyway, keeping this affordable as well as doable.

How much does it cost?

A Week in the Wild is FREE to download straight to your inbox now. This is a great way to try out our activities and get to know us.

Wild Advent costs £9.99. This works out less than 42p a day. You will have an activity ready and waiting up your sleeve (with little to no prep - yes!) to enjoy with your little one.

What extra resources do I need to buy?

Pretty much none! We believe in using what we have whether it's from the recycling or things that you are likely to have, like glue or paint. We aren't all from Yorkshire but very much play up to the stereotype! We don't want you to have to spend a load of money so we give as many options as possible when it comes to resources and highly encourage you to use what you find about the house.

For example: We love eye stickers as we think they are really easy (and children love stickers!), you may have googly eyes OR you could simply draw some eyes to stick on.

When you sign up you will be able to access a full resources list.

Do I have to do the activities in a specific order?

Absolutely not - every child is different and every day the weather is different so we designed these packs for you to choose the best order to suit you. This way you can choose the activities which will take longer on days when you have more time.

Do I need a printer?

Some activities do have an additional page that you could print off to use - however if you are happy drawing a simple outline you will find it isn't necessary. We do like a scavenger hunt so this could be printed or completed on your phone or recorded on the back of a cereal box!

How long do the activities take?

The activities vary in length so you can pick one that suits the amount of time you have available each day - there are even ones that would be suitable to do on the way to or from nursery!

All our activities are designed for and tested by under fives however older siblings may enjoy some of the activities and they can be adapted to include them, it will depend on their age and interests.
